  • Review of IFAD internal and external documentation on IFAD’s strategies and programmes in Ghana; Participate in preliminary meetings with relevant stakeholders, including the IFAD team, the country, government representatives, and other stakeholders (via Skype/zoom);
    • Participate in the evaluation inception and in the “virtual preparatory mission” (first meetings with institutional stakeholders –government, donor organizations, project management within the country and elsewhere); Conduct thorough desk review of the strategy and programme related documentation, database and other relevant documents;
    • Contribute to interim reports drafted by other team members which present very preliminary findings, trends and evidence gaps, on the basis on desk review data, information and outcome of virtual interviews; and provide comments, as deemed necessary; Participate in field mission and assist in preparing data collection tools (interview protocols, guides and / or questionnaires) and assist in preparing the PPT to be delivered as part of the exit debrief on final day of mission;
    • Contribute in writing to sections of the draft main evaluation report, after the field mission, by incorporating primary field data and analyses in the interim reports on assigned OECD-DAC criteria and Themes (see table below on criteria and themes to be covered by the consultant); Contribute in writing to revising sections of the main evaluation report following comments from team members and other reviewers.

Social Land Lab Facilitator, Oxfam. Accra Ghana

Facilitating all the technical activities of the Land lab in collaboration with the WEACT project teams, stakeholders and partners to contribute to enhancing economic empowerment, well-being, and inclusive economic growth for women in the shea and cocoa chains across 9 districts in the Upper West, Upper East, Northern, Savanna, Western North, and Western Regions in Ghana. In line with the search for solutions to barriers to women’s economic empowerment and in line with the convening powers of Oxfam, a social lab is being facilitated to embark on the search for a lasting solution to the age-long problem of women’s access to economic advancement. The social innovation lab is hinged on four main pillars of the WEACT project. These include:

  • Improve the ability of women to overcome legal and social barriers individually and collectively to enhance their participation in agriculture and economic activities.
  • Improve the capacity for household members (women, men, boys and girls) to recognize, reduce and redistribute unpaid work freeing time for women to actively participate in economic
  • Increase access to economic opportunities by implementing a gender-responsive skills development programme focused on transformative leadership, business acumen, and negotiation skills; as well as providing technical and financial assistance for women to develop alternative livelihoods.
  • Enhance equal access to productive resources for women by using a multi-stakeholder social lab

Provided technical support to the European Union – Ghana Agriculture Programme (EUGAP) and GIZ market-oriented agriculture program (MOAP) to improve production for some 6400 smallholders in the north west of Ghana. This include building the technical and business capacity of staff of MoFA, Department of Agriculture (DoA), lead farmers among others. I conduct periodic monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of the field activities to gauge progress.

Worked with SEDS on business/enterprise development for women groups in the shea value chain in the Upper West and Upper East region of Ghana on an SNV Ghana strengthening producer groups into societies and cooperatives unions to aid the establishment of effective supply chain relationships where these co-operative unions are able to independently engage with formal agribusinesses (both international and local). We assisted with the development of training materials and also facilitated direct business development training with support from ORGISS in the Upper East region, PRUDA, and WIDO in the Upper West region of Ghana.

This project was a 5-year project sponsored by the government of the United States of America under the Millennium Challenge Account (MCC). This project was aimed at commercially developing agriculture in Ghana.

Worked as a Technical and Training Service Providers (TTSPs) and facilitated both technical and financial management trainings for Farmer-Based Organisations (FBOs) and Producer Organisations (POs) who were engaged along the agricultural value chains in northern Ghana.
